Simen Hjellvik has started his PhD with the new research group I-MERSE, an interdisciplinary research group initiated by the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) in the field of advanced immersive technologies (e.g. Virtual and Augmented Reality). He will be working closely with TARG scientists on the topics of Training, assessment, learning & human factors (Faculty of Technology, Natural Sciences and Maritime Sciences).

Simen has a seafaring background and is a licensed marine engineer officer who also come from a position of assistant professor at USN. His main supervisor is associate professor Steven Mallam and co-supervisor is professor Salman Nazir.
