15thInternational conference on Cognition and Exploratory Learning in Digital Age (CELDA 2018) took place in Budapest, Hungary from 21st-23rdOctober. The CELDA conference aims to address the main issues concerned with evolving learning processes and supporting pedagogies and applications in the digital age. There have been advances in both cognitive psychology and computing that have affected the educational arena. The convergence of these two disciplines is increasing at a fast pace and affecting academia and professional practice in many ways. TARG had a short paper titled “Application of Second Life in promoting collaborative learning” as presentation in the conference. The paper explored the utilization of virtual world Second Life in various domain and proposed a conceptual framework for utilization in Maritime Education & Training (MET). We look forward to the next edition of CELDA to continue proposing advances and application of new methods for supporting the needs of maritime trainees.
