Jørgen Ernstsen is a PhD-researcher on training and assessment in complex sociotechnical systems. He is situated at the University College of Southeast Norway, faculty of technology and maritime sciences. He has a Master’s degree in Psychology with specialisation in human factors from the University of Oslo.
The PhD-research is focused on increasing the precision and objectivity in the performance assessment of operations in complex sociotechnical systems. The PhD-research will require multidisciplinary collaboration with an emphasis within the domains of psychology and engineering. Sociotechnical systems comprise of both human and technical components and their interdependent interaction, and Mr. Ernstsen’s research aims to shed light on the interdependency founded in such systems. Through this acknowledgement, a goal is to identify performance indicators that may be objectively and automatically measured by using advanced computer algorithms.
